Kristen Wiig, Leslie Jones, Kate McKinnon & Melissa McCarthy Cast in Paul Feig 'Ghostbusters' Reboot: Released Vs 'Power Rangers' Remake

We know who we are going to call when something strange is in our neighborhood. No, its not Dan Aykroyd, Ernie Hudson, Bill Murray or even Rick Moranis. Director Paul Feig (Freaks and Geeks,Bridesmaids, The Heat) has strapped the proton packs on backs of some of the funniest ladies in Hollywood. Saturday Night Live cast members (current and former) Kristen Wiig, Leslie Jones and Kate McKinnon will be joining Melissa McCarthy in the all new reboot. The film will reportedly not be crossing streams with original, taking place in its own separate universe. However, the ladies might have to throw some slime on the New Colossus, high-jack the Statue of Liberty and blast some "Higher and Higher" in order to take on the Megazord. The new movie shares the same release date with the upcoming Power Rangers reboot.

Paul Feig finally confirmed the new Ghostbusters all female reboot cast, on Tuesday when he Tweeted:

The cast includes some of the choice Bill Murray named last year when he spoke to The Toronto Star about about his Ghostbusters reboot, dream cast:

“Melissa [McCarthy] would be a spectacular Ghostbuster. And Kristen Wiig is so funny --God, she’s funny! I like this girl Linda Cardellini (Mad Men) a lot. And Emma Stone is funny. There are some funny girls out there.”

Feig went on to drop another bomb, when he tweeted the film’s release date:

The July 22, 2016 release date puts the film in direct competition with the new Power Rangers reboot.
