Scarlett Strallen Replaces Lisa O'Hare in Tony Award Winning 'A Gentleman's Guide to Love and Murder'

Oliver award nominee Scarlett Strallen will join the cast of the Tony-winning musical, A Gentleman’s Guide to Love and Murder. Strallen will take the place of original cast member Lisa O’Hare beginning on Feb. 10.

A Gentleman’s Guide to Love and Murder centers around Monty Navarro, who learns that he is a descendant of a noble family, and, therefore is may be in line to become the next Earl of Highhurst. However, for him to come into his position, he will have to eliminate eight other heirs, played by a single actor, who are also all vying for the same position. Currently Jefferson Mays plays all eight family heirs and Jeff Kready has taken over as Navarro in the temporary absence of Bryce Pinkham.

Strallen will take over the role of Sibella, the main character's love interest in the play. She has previously appeared Broadway as Lady Macduff in Kenneth Branagh's Macbeth and as Mary in Mary Poppins, which she has also played in London and Sydney. Recent London credits include Cunegonde in Candide, Cassie in A Chorus Line and Kathy in Singin' in the Rain.

The show features a Tony-winning book and lyrics by Robert L. Freedman, Tony-nominated music and lyrics by Steven Lutvak, and Tony-winning direction by Darko Tresnjak.

A Gentleman’s Guide to Love and Murder opened at the Walter Kerr Theater on Nov. 13, 2013, with O’Hare, Mays and Ken Barnett. The show won Best Musical at the 2014 Tony Awards. Her final performance as Sibella will be on Feb. 10. To purchase tickets for the musical, click here.
