‘Sons of Anarchy’ Charlie Hunnam Doesn’t Party, Talks Social Anxiety & Dropping Out of ‘50 Shades of Grey’

Charlie Hunnam is one of Hollywood’s fastest rising stars. So you you might be surprised to find out that the Sons of Anarchy and Pacific Rim star doesn’t like to party. Hunnam recently opened up about his social anxiety and why he dropped out of Fifty Shades of Grey.

Charlie Hunnam recently opened up to Women’s Health magazine about his social insecurities, stating (via The Belfast Telegraph):

“My social anxiety. I hate going to parties, I hate small talk, and I hate socialising with people I don’t know. I feel horribly awkward in those situations. If I have to go to a party, my whole day is ruined worrying about it.”

Hunnam also opened up about why he dropped out of the FIfty Shades of Grey film:

“When all that Fifty Shades stuff went down. I was going against everything I believed I was. I’ve never been in a situation like that, where I’d bitten off more that I could chew. I was scared there would be negative repercussions.”

Back in 2014, Charlie Hunnam appeared on the cover of Men’s Health Magazine, where he spoke up about turning down the role of Christian Grey in Fifty Shades of Grey:

"I was going to finish playing a psychopath [Jax Teller] who'd just lost his wife, and five days later I'd be on set playing Christian Grey. I was like, 'This is going to be a f***ing disaster.' "
