Philip Glass Ringtones Now Available on All Apple Devices, Courtesy of Orange Mountain Music

Remember when flip phones were a thing and a personalized ringtone was part of your immediate identity? Well, for all the avant-gardists out there, an entire repertoire of Philip Glass ringtones is now available on iTunes. Orange Mountain Music has proudly announced the first volume of official Glass ringtones now available through all Apple devices -- Androids, naturally, have to wait.

As The Awl notes, the ringtones, drawn from original OMM masters, feature a distinguished 22 tones including scores from the composer like Koyaanisqatsi, Einstein on the Beach, The Thin Blue Line, North Star, The Secret Agent, Fog of War, Candyman, solo piano works including Mad Rush and Akhnaten.

Ringtones also include "Koyaanisqatsi" from Koyaanisqatsi, various selections from "The Grid" from Koyaanisqatsi, "Knee Play No. 5" from Einstein on the Beach, "Metamorphosis No. 2, the Funeral of Amenhotep III" from Akhnaten, two movements from the Concerto for Saxophone Quartet, "Houston Skyline and Comets & Vegas" from The Thin Blue Line, "Music Box" (the perfect ringtone) from Candyman and beyond.

So if personalizing your ringtone is something still in your fancy, then at least keep it cool with a few Philip Glass compositions for your mobile device. Who knows who will be around to hear it?
