'America’s Got Talent' Season 4 Episode 3 [RECAP]: Chicago

America’s Got Talent is in full swing and we’ve got a recap for you. Season 4 Episode 3 took place in the great city of Chicago.

The show opened with Omega Force Strength Team, which boasts the claim that one of their member’s is the world’s strongest senior citizen.

The act was more funny (intentional and otherwise) than it was inspirational or impressive. Mel B was pleased:

“What you guys are doin’ is entertaining. You have a bit of comedy. It’s definitely a family show and that’s what this is--a family show.”

Kyle & Darby were the next real standout act. Darby is a 5 year old cheerleader that Kyle has been training for cheerleading, since she was 3. They performed some ‘stunting.’

Kenichi Ebina, who is 38, appeared to be a joke act. When asked what his talent was, he responded by saying a “dance-ish performance that I began by doing ‘running man’ and people would get loud. And then I was like hey, this make me feel good.”

His act was great...even though, we’re not entirely sure what it was. America’s Judge Howard Stern summed it up nicely:

“We see a lot of guys who come on stage that try to do what you do, but they can’t do it. And, you have a story to tell. You know, you were doing the Matrix there. That was the whole movie in 90 seconds. It was magnificent, I could watch you all day”

Deanna DellaCioppa, with her bright red hair, stole the show. The singer performed an amazing rendition from Dream Girls. Because she initially appeared to lack confidence, the audience couldn’t determine how it was going to play out. After her first notes, they were certain she was going to Vegas.

“This is the moment I’ve been waiting for my whole life. Im so excited,” she cried.

Next up was Sprice, an incredibly awkward young man, that seems like he would spend all of his time in a basement building things. Turns out that is exactly what he does. His big talent was creating Rube Goldberg devices.

Stern’s verdict:

“I love this kind of thing. You sit in a room and you create this. Your mind has to be something else. I love it and congratulations on that working out. That was a great combination.”

The best act of the night belonged to Red Panda. She was to perform a traditional Chinese acrobatic act, by balancing herself on a 10-ft unicycle and then kicking bowly onto her head. It was awesome.

“This is an absolute home run. You’re a huge success. I cannot wait to see you in Vegas...Imagine the dream of coming to America and then succeeding like she did. That is incredible.”
