Common is one of the most popular artists in modern pop culture. His thoughtful lyrics and political influence has skyrocketed him to A-list celebrity status. He was recently seen hugging and palling around with his ex, Serena Williams, at the Grammys. This has sparked rumors that the two could be getting back together. This isn't a far-fetched idea -- Common has stated in the past that, out of all his exes, he would consider getting back with Serena most of all.
As most of you know, Common originally reigns from the underground scene in Chicago, Illinois. His debut album Can I Burrow a Dollar hit shelves in 1992. All through the 90s, he kept up a strong underground following.
Now, he has notable mainstream popularity, he runs his own record label, he stars in his own show on Spike TV , and he is occasionally seen palling around with President Obama.
The mogul recently caught our eye with his flirtatious demeanor at this year's academy awards. According to TMZ Sports, it looks like Common might be getting back with Serena:
"It was very interesting when Common let his ex-GF Serena Williams carry his statue around last night...fueling rumors they could be back on. The two were spotted together at the Vanity Fair post-Oscars bash -- and even took a photo together (which Serena curiously posted and then removed from her Instagram page). It's especially interesting ... considering that Common has been very open about how much he cared for Serena when they were together -- and even said he thought about marrying her."
Truly, it is no secret that Common still has feeling for Williams, and according to Madamenoire, he would pick Serena over anyone else:
"During an interview, Common expressed [his willingness] to do a relationship do-over with Serena Williams. 'Um, probably Serena. Yes, point blank she's just a good person and when we broke up, it was one of these things where we just weren't ready at that time. I probably would be at a new place, she would be at a new place and it might work out.'"
