Ellen DeGeneres and Portia De Rossi just listed their penthouse for sale. The two are leaving their Beverly Hills home for their new Santa Barbara spread.
Ellen purchased the penthouse back in 2010. She paid around $835,000 for her old crib and is now listing the property at around $900,000.
They may be moving out of the Hills, but that doesn’t mean they’re headed to the bad part of town. In fact, they are getting one heck of an upgrade.
Ellen and Portia’s new property is nestled in the heart of Santa Barbara and is actually classified as a mansion.
The property, which is listed online, is over 10,000 square feet. That’s pretty impressive, but the fact that it sits on 13+ acres of prime real estate is mind blowing, complete with ocean views.
The six bedroom, six bathroom locale features nine different fireplaces. The cost of the property is nearly $27 million.
Things are going great for both Ellen DeGeneres and Portia De Rossi. Portia was recently in the revamped Arrested Development on Netflix. The new series received praise from both critics and fans, alike.
Ellen still has one of the top daytime TV shows and is syndicated worldwide. Not to mention, Ellen is considered a gay and lesbian icon...one of the most recognizable ones as well.
According to the Pew Research Center:
“Not only was the comedian and television host by far the most frequently cited example of a gay or lesbian public figure in the general-population survey, she and President Obama were the leaders when LGBT Americans were asked to name a well-known figure who’s been important in advancing the rights of LGBT people.”
