The world may be falling in love with Patricia Arquette following her Golden Globe worthy performance in Boyhood, but it may be too late for Ethan Hawke to come around. According to the latest gossip news updates, the Hamlet alum has been feuding with his Richard Linklater co-star for years, and at the 2015 Oscars things nearly came to head on live television. Word has it that hours before her speech, the Training Day actor started to insist that CSI star's having a better seat was one slight too many and began making such a fuss that the pair had to be escorted off the floor. Apparently, Hawke didn't get the message that Patricia doesn't back down from anybody. That is why the 46-year-old actress never got her teeth fixed -- she wanted her twisted mouth to reflect her surly insides.
The rest of his Hollywood peers have been smitten by Patricia Arquette's moving performance in Boyhood, but Ethan Hawke may have very well hoped that the role went to a different less defiant actress.
One eye witness to an Oscar night row between the pair reveled in the March 16, issue of Star Magazine, that things began to come to a boil right in the aisles until a quick thinking usher got them out of camera shot:
"He didn't like that she had a better seat than he did...He thought it was disrespectful.
"It got so heated, they were ushered into a small room that was being used for seat fillers.
"She told him to just shut up a get over it."
According to the informant, the Oscar night face-off was really a longtime coming given their mutual lack of respect:
"They've have tension between them for a long time.
"Ethan made some snide comments years ago about her family, and Patricia has never got over it.
"Now he can't stand that she is getting so much acclaim and he is kind of an afterthought."
Although, the day may never come for Ethan, it was only a matter of time before the rest of Tinsel Town got own board the Patty Arquette bandwagon -- not that Patricia needs them to do so.
Patricia has been setting her own trends for years -- like when she decided at a very young age that she wasn't going to confirm to the same conventions of beauty set by the world around her.
Very early on Arquette let her folks know that she wasn't going to be getting braces to straighten her teeth, regardless of what anybody had to say about it (via Yahoo! News):
"It didn't feel like it would fit who I was inside.
"I just didn't want to look perfect. I didn't want to have to change myself to be attractive.
"I didn't think that was my responsibility."
Looks like Ethan will just have to let all the extra money he's made over the years comfort him while Patricia experiences this upsetting upswing.
