Wife Beater Ray Rice Update: Spotted at Football Game After Scandal, Returning to NFL?

The Ray Rice situation has turned into one of the biggest controversies of the modern football era. In recent news, Rice was spotted balling it up in a pick up football game at the park. This might be the only footballing Rice will be doing from now on. Reports say that Ray is hopeful he will get a second chance in the league, but, apparently, no teams have given him a second glance after he committed one of the worst cases of spousal abuse in recent history.

Before his time as a professional, Rice played college ball for Rutgers University. Following that, Rice was brought up to the big leagues during the 2008 NFL Draft.

Even though he wasn't chosen until the second round, his performance in Baltimore looked as if he should have been first overall pick. Not to mention, he is currently ranked as the Ravens' second all-time leading rusher.

He stacked an impressive list of stats with 6,180 yards, he is also second in rushing attempts (1,430) and rushing touchdowns (37) and third in combined touchdowns (43).

Now, though, anything positive he may have once done has been covered up by the scandal that resulted in his ultimate dismissal.

According to TMZ Sports, Rice seems to be itching to get back on the field:

"Ray Rice found a way to keep himself in football shape after he was cut by the Ravens and suspended from the NFL back in September...he hit up a park league game...and crushed it. Rice hit up a touch league game in Baltimore roughly one month after...published the inside-the-elevator video...and asked the guys if he could join in one of the game..."

For Ravens' fans, it would be a dream come true to get their star back. However, according to Roto World, his return seems unlikely:

"Free agent Ray Rice said he expects to get a second chance in the NFL...Rice is attempting to get back in the NFL with Adrian Peterson, Greg Hardy and Richie Incognito all getting second chances. He blamed his 2013 struggles on a quad injury he played through the entire season, and believes he still has the ability to help a team. Rice looked to be on the downside of his career prior his suspension and turned 28 this offseason. No team has called Rice since his November reinstatement."
