Contrary to public desire, Roman Reigns has evolved into one of the WWE's top contenders. It is now obvious that Roman will be facing off against Brock Lesnar at the biggest annual event in the sport of wrestling, WrestleMania. Most people believe that Daniel Bryan is the one who truly deserves that opportunity. All in all, it remains unclear who will come out on top. Some sources have suggested that Roman will take his story line all the way to the top. Others, however, assert that Reigns is destined to fail again -- just how he has in the eyes of fans.
Before his time in the WWE, Leati Joseph "Joe" AnoaʻI, a.k.a. Roman Reigns tried his hand in professional football. After short stints with eh Minnesota Vikings and the Jacksonville Jaguars, Reigns found his home in the sport of wrestling.
He first signed with the WWE in 2010. Like many before him, he was initially assigned to developmental territory. After proving himself with Florida Championship Wrestling and NXT, he was brought to the big leagues.
Now, according to Cage Side Seats, the Samoan stud has been given the chance at legendary status:
"Roman Reigns won the Royal Rumble and is going to WrestleMania to fight, and most likely defeat, Brock Lesnar, the Conqueror of the Streak (and John Cena). This came following a short feud with Daniel Bryan where he reaffirmed his status as #1 contender by defeating the man who never lost the WWE Championship. Unfortunately for Roman, the match became necessary because fans so widely and virulently rejected his win at the Royal Rumble..."
True, it does seem fitting that Roman would take it all the way after the WWE has backed him so much.
However, according to MStarz, the fans opinions on the matter account for too much for the promotion to allow that to happen:
"No matter what the fans want, Roman Reigns is facing Brock Lesnar in the main event of WrestleMania 31 for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship. People can complain all they want about Daniel Bryan or whomever else, but Reigns vs. Lesnar is the match we're getting. But is it doomed to fail? WWE did itself no favors with Reigns, and hardcore fans have already turned on him to the point where there's nothing he can do to salvage that relationship..."
