Collegiate All-Star Ndamukong Suh Guaranteed $60 Million in Dolphins Signing?

Ndamukong Suh is one of the most beastly defensive tackles in the NFL. In recent news, Suh has officially opted to sign with the Miami Dolphins. Some have suggested that the millions the Florida team has offered him is too much. Others, on the other hand, have said that letting the brute go in the first place was a huge mistake.

Before his time as a professional, Suh was one of the most accomplished college football players in history. While at the University of Nebraska, he won the Bronk Nagruski Trophy, the Lombardi Award, and he was named the Associated Press College Football Player of the Year.

Since his time in the NFL, Suh has peen criticized as overly aggressive.

Also, as Green Bay fans definitely remember, he was penalized after flagrantly stomping on Aaron Rogers' ankle.

However, according to ESPN, that didn't stop Ndamukong from landing millions in a recent trade:

"Barring a breakdown in formal contract negotiations, Ndamukong Suh will sign with the Miami Dolphins after the new league year begins Tuesday for a deal that will pay him approximately $114 million with $60 million in guaranteed money... The Dolphins and Suh's agent Jimmy Sexton discussed those six-year parameters once the 72-hour window opened Saturday for dialogue between teams and unrestricted free agents, sources confirmed...the Dolphins' parameters far exceeded the rest of the clubs interested in the defensive tackle."

For Dolphin's fans, it's exiting to learn such a notable player could be boosting their numbers in the near future. Yahoo Sports has similarly suggest that the Lion's messed up by letting him go:

"Landing Suh is a huge win for the Dolphins but it is also a huge disaster for Suh's former team, the Detroit Lions, and they have only themselves to blame...Prior to becoming a free agent, the Lions had the option of placing the "franchise tag" on Suh, which would have kept the defensive tackle in Detroit for at least one more season. The franchise tag can be used by a team on one player each year and binds that player to the team for one more season..."
