It has been years since Julianne Hough embarrassed herself when she dressed in blackface for Halloween. In 2013, Hough and her friends appeared as the cast of the streaming Netflix original series, Orange is the New Black. Hough dressed as Crazy Eyes, who is portrayed by African American actress Uzo Aduba. Now the Dancing with The Stars judge is opening up about the embarrassing event ahead of the third season premiere release date.
Julianne Hough has been haunted by own idiotic actions for a few years now. The Dancing with The Stars vet recently opened up to Allure Magazine about her ill fated decision to dress in black face for Halloween, when she dressed as Orange is The New Black’s Crazy Eyes, back in 2013 (via US Weekly):
"Ignorance is sometimes not bliss…It was all out of fun and respect for the character. I don't even know how to talk about it because it's such a sensitive topic. It makes me so sad to think that I was that dumb. I learned a big lesson."
Back in November of 2013, Uzo Aduba spoke to E! News about moving on from the controversy:
“I think maybe it was an unfortunate event, but she apologized and I feel like we can all move on."
