Gretchen Carlson Leaving Fox News? Megyn Kelly and Elisabeth Hasselbeck Promoted

Media outlets are reporting that Gretchen Carlson may be leaving Fox News. Our sources indicate that Gretchen was simply promoted to Megyn Kelly's old spot, so that Elisabeth Hasselbeck could join the conservative news network.

For some time now, Gretchen has been angling to host her own show on Fox News. It appears that she may soon have her chance.

Though it is unclear what time slot or show Mrs. Carlson will be hosting, she has confirmed that she will no longer be appearing on Fox and Friends. That role will now be filled by Hasselbeck.

Elisabeth Hasselbeck, who is known for outspoken conservative stances, left her popular morning show, The View, on Wednesday.

Mrs. Hasselbeck’s decision to leave her morning talk show, The View, came as a surprise to many. Elisabeth was on the show for over a decade, before deciding to jump ship.

In a written statement to Fox News, Elisabeth stated:

“I have been a long-time fan of ‘Fox & Friends’ and am excited to be joining their team in September as it is an honor to call the Fox News Channel my new television home.”

ABC issued their own announcement in the wake of Elisabeth’s decision to leave ABC for Fox News. It was one filled with admiration and love:

“For a decade, Elisabeth Hasselbeck has brought her passion and strong beliefs to The View. We watched her journey from newlywed to motherhood, an Emmy Award-winning talk show host, author, entrepreneur and activist. She stood behind her political views even if they were not the most popular opinions at the table never shying away from voicing a difficult question. We thank Elisabeth and wish her luck as she begins this new chapter of her career.”

Even Barbara Walters, who is the executive producer of The View, congratulated the soon-to-be-former host:

“When Elisabeth survived Survivor, we wanted to make sure she would stay afloat. We have had 10 wonderful years with her and she will now be swimming in new waters. We will miss her and wish her everything good.”

Haselbeck will be joining Steve Doocy and Brian Kilmeade on Fox and Friends.
