‘Arrow’ Stephen Amell Talks Casey Jones Casting In Michael Bay’s ‘Ninja Turtles 2’ [2016] [RELEASE] [TMNT]

Stephen Amell is known for playing the viliagantie Oliver Queen A.K.A. The Green Arrow on The CW’s hit tv show, Arrow. It was recently announced that Amell will be trading in his quiver for a golf bag, as Casey Jones in Micheal Bay's upcoming Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles sequel, which is set to be released in 2016.

Stephen Amell is well known for having a insanely loyal fan base, on social media. Amell, wasted no time celebrating his new casting with his fan following on Facebook, posting:

Stephen Amell recently opened up to fans at Fan Expo Vancouver 2015, comparing Oliver Queen and Casey Jones (via Comic Book.com):

""Obviously, the similarities are right there on the surface, he's a vigilante. But, if the audition process and the script are any indication the character is going to be fundamentally different. As a matter of fact, it is almost like the character of Casey Jones --at least in this iteration of Ninja Turtles -- is almost like the Oliver Queen people know from the older comic books….As much as I enjoy playing Oliver Queen it is very important to me to stretch out a little bit.

“And believe me, I know I'm playing another vigilante. I know this! You're going to have to trust me when I say that not only is Casey Jones different from Oliver Queen, but filming a big feature film is really different than filming a television show."
Amell went on to add that it was director David Green’s love for the source material that lead him to accept the role:

"One thing that I've learned from being on Arrow is that if the people that write and direct and create the shows aren't fans of the source material and don't get the community than the show's not gonna be any good."
