Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2 is beginning filming, and they are shutting down parts of Buffalo, NY in order to do so. Filming for the 2016 film will reportedly take place on the Kensington Expressway for around 2 weeks. That is when the production will move to NYC. The new movie stars Transformers vet Megan Fox as April O’Neil, and Arrow’s Stephen Amell as her vigilante boyfriend, Casey Jones.
According to Onlocationvacations.com, filming for Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2 will takeover the Kensington Expressway in Buffalo, NY from May 4 to May 17.
However, despite the inconvenience, the city is hoping to bring more big budget productions their way, according to Buffalo Niagara Film Commission executive director, Tim Clark (via Onlocationvacations.com):
“Once you do a movie like this, you prove to the major studios that your city can handle a large scale production.”
Stephen Amell recently opened up to fans at Fan Expo Vancouver 2015, about how director David Green’s love for the source material that lead him to take the role (via Comic Book.com):
"One thing that I've learned from being on Arrow is that if the people that write and direct and create the shows aren't fans of the source material and don't get the community than the show's not gonna be any good."
