Netflix Renews Marvel’s ‘Daredevil’ for Season 2: EP Steps Down, Replaced By ‘American Horror Story’ and ‘Sons of Anarchy’ Vets

Netflix has officially renewed Marvel’s Daredevil for a second season. However, not everyone behind the scenes will be returning. Executive Producer Steven S. DeKnight is stepping aside from the series, and will be replaced by Buffy The Vampire Slayer and American Horror Story vet Doug Petrie and Sons of Anarchy’s Marco Ramirez.

Executive Producer Steven S. DeKnight will not be returning for Season 2, but will be replaced by new showrunners Doug Petrie (American Horror Story) and Marco Ramirez (Sons of Anarchy).

In a statement found on Marvel.com, Steven S. DeKnight explains his departure from the successful series:

“While previous commitments unfortunately prevent me from continuing on with Daredevil into its second season. I could not be happier that Doug Petrie and Marco Ramirez are carrying the torch. They were invaluable collaborators during our first season, and I for one can't wait to see what they do with the show moving forward."
