Brandi Glanville can try to play super-friend all she likes but it looks like Kim Richards' family's thinking is more in line with Real Housewives of Beverly Hills's cast mate Lisa Vanderpump. According to the latest gossip news updates, Kim's son, Chad, thinks that his mother's relationship with Donald Trump's drunk Celebrity Apprentice is corrosive. Speaking of toxic television -- new Season 5 rookie, Lisa Rinna, has reportedly been cast as Kris Jenner in a new mini-series about the O.J. Simpson murder trial of the 1990s.
While Kim Richards is almost doing her best to finally take some responsibility for her Beverly Hills Hotel arrest -- admitting she had been drinking that night but only after being upset by Twitter.
In their recent interview, Kim told Dr. Phil that she had been keeping her nose clean up until that evening, but the constant criticism and pressure from the TV show caused a temporary lapse in judgment that she's been paying for ever since (via Reality Tea):
"Living through this season on the show, sometimes it's hard enough to get through it.
"I have been sober...[but] I haven't been working a program."
According to the E! News coverage, a couple of Kim's kids might disagree with their mom's argument that she has been keeping her addiction at bay.
While her son Chad condemns Brandi Glanville's influence as "toxic", her daughter Brooke seemed confident that this latest arrest would bring about some positive change in her mother's life:
"This is the best thing that could have happened."
While Kim Richard's personal life seems to be imploding very publicly thanks to her participation in the Bravo reality series, Lisa Rinna's star seems to be on the rise once again.
When the Melrose Place alum started shooting the Bravo series last year, it was the only thing she really had going on career-wise at the time, but now Rinna is said to have been cast in a new American Crime Story mini-series centering on the infamous murder of O.J. Simpson's ex-wife Nicole Brown.
A source close to the project revealed in the May 4, issue of the National Enquirer that the producers have Rinna playing a tongue in cheek version of Keeping Up with the Kardashians' mom, Kris Jenner, who was married to one of O.J.'s defense attorneys at the time of the trial:
"The current plan is to turn the Kardashian family segments into a high camp comedy, with winking references to the current fame.
"Lisa will only appear in two or three episodes, but the producers want the publicity that will come from hiring Lisa to camp up Kris' role in the O.J. saga!"
So, Kim Richards would have been better off throwing her wine glass instead of draining it?
