It turns out that Good Morning America footballer and Live with Kelly and Michael co-host, Michael Strahan is a true triple threat. Forget about singing and dancing -- the former New York Giant can carry a show, score the game winning touchdown and fill in for Bobby Brown on the next New Edition reunion tour. Nicole Murphy's ex-boyfriend was recently joined by none other than Bel Biv DevVoe on LL Cool J's Lip Sync Battle. According to the latest gossip news updates, the talk show host also has a new love in his life. Word has it that Kelly Ripa's sidekick is currently dating Empire star Taraji P. Henson -- though they are supposedly taking things slow for the time being.
While Jimmy Fallon's celebrity lip sync battles on the Tonight Show were successful enough to spawn a LL Cool J helmed spin-off, the late night TV bits never featured the actual artists joining in on the phone.
The new series, explains the Hollywood Reporter isn't playing by any such rules -- with a couple iconic members of New Edition dropping by to lend a helping hand with their 1990s R&B chart-topper:
"In a preview of Thursday's battle, Michael Strahan, co-host of Live! With Kelly and Michael, can be seen breaking out into classic '90s boy band dance moves for his rendition of Bell Biv DeVoe's "Poison."
"Midway through his performance, Strahan is joined onstage by the bandmembers themselves in a surprise guest appearance (that makes LL Cool J and competitor Hoda Kotb get up from their seats)."
Even more exciting that his performance with Bel Biv DeVoe, is the news that Michael Strahan is dating again.
A behind-the-scenes production source told Star Magazine, that ever since Empire star Taraji Henson filled in for Kelly Ripa one day on their talk show, Strahan has been absolutely obsessed with the actress (via HollywoodLife):
"Michael flirted openly with Taraji on camera, but he wasn't kidding -- off camera, he kept asking her, 'When can I take you out?''
According to the informant, the constant doting worked like a charm, but Henson is still making sure she doesn't rush into anything too quickly:
"She's definitely smitten...but she likes to take things slow!"
Maybe Michael will even be able to parlay his romance with Taraji into a part playing an R&B singer on her successful hit series.
