Katy Perry’s new album, Prism, has had its release date leaked. While rumors surrounding her new songs circulate, Perry made the announcement in a very big way, via a giant gold truck.
Fans of Katy Perry have some celebrating to do. The singer/songwriter has officially announced an October release date for Prism. You can pick up a copy of her album on October 22, 2013.
How she announced the date, however, is a bit odd. An 18-wheeler truck has been painted solid gold with giant letters reading “Katy Perry. Prism. October 22.” printed on the side.

Perry encouraged fans to tweet photos of the truck and she would RT them.
This comes as a welcome surprise to fans who have been clamoring for a new release. Perry’s last album, Teenage Dream, came out way back in 2010.
It may have taken 3 years to produce, but if it’s as successful as Dream, then it will have been well worth it. That album went on to tie Michael Jackson’s Bad, in the category of chart-topping singles off the same album.
Which is good news...’cause it’s been a rough couple of years for Ms. Perry. Katy Married Russell Brand on Oct 10, 2010 and the pair didn’t stay hitched for long. By December 2011, Brand had already filed for divorce. It was made official in July of the following year.
The process was a difficult one for Perry who admits that Brand divorced her via text message.
But, things have been looking up since August, when she began dating John Mayer. The two have been in an on-again, off-again relationship with John Mayer.
