Jacques Lacombe, music director of New Jersey Symphony Orchestra (NJSO), has extended his contract for three more seasons.
The orchestra announced Tuesday that its acclaimed conductor will stay on through the 2015-16 season. The French Canadian Lacombe, 48, has been in that position since 2010.
"My experiences as Music Director of the NJSO over the past two seasons have been both enjoyable and creatively stimulating," said Lacombe in a press release.
"I am thrilled to extend my relationship with the NJSO, and I look forward to continuing to present captivating programs and to interacting with the audiences and communities of New Jersey," Lacombe added.
Under Lacombe, the orchestra gave a successful Carnegie Hall concert in 2011-12 season. In 2012-13 season, he will continue as the music director at the Orchestre Symphonique de Trois-Rivières, a position he has held since 2006, and the NJSO. He will also guest-conduct at Opéra de Nice, Deutsche Oper Berlin, and the Montreal Symphony Orchestra.
