B.B. King Estate Fight Moves to Nevada Courthouse Amid Allegations

It didn't take long after blues legend B.B. King's death for an argument to stir about his estate. Now, finally, the fight over his estate is moving from the newspapers and is en route to the courthouse in Las Vegas.

As it's been reported, attorney's for King's designated executor, LaVerne Toney, have filed documents in a Nevada court to put to rest allegations that suggested family members were fended off from his bedside and that the musician was mistreated medically. It was also stated that the 89-year-old musician's money was siphoned off before he died May 14 at his home in Las Vegas.

According to attorney Brent Bryson and CBS News:

"We're asking the probate commissioner to approve (Toney) as executor and personal representative of the estate. The spurious and unjustified allegations made against Ms. Toney by Patty King, Karen Williams and Larissa Drohobyczer will be dealt with at a later time."

Among King's surviving lineage are 11 adult children but Williams and Patty King have had the most to say about their father's untimely passing. While the accusations have been dismissed as libelous, thus, it's still been claimed that King's health was a result of an outside factor.

Toney managed King's road-show business for 39 years and had power of attorney over his personal affairs as well as being the will-named executor. Another one of King's daughters, Riletta Mitchell, was next in line, but she died last September.

King was buried on May 30 at the B.B. King Museum and Delta Interpretive Center in Indianola, Mississippi.

Remember him fondly below as the nasty suit rages on.
