Jacqueline Fernandez may not be a part of Kick 2, but that doesn't exclude her from stating her opinion about who should replace her. At a recent press conference, the Sri Lanka-born Fernandez expressed an opinion on who many are in agreement should star opposite Salman Khan in the sequel to the wildly popular first film. That person? Deepika Padukone.
"I want to see Salman Khan and Deepika in Kick 2 . It's a fresh pair & they'll look great." Fernandez stated. While it is only a suggestion at best, it could very well happen. Reports are surfacing that Aditya Chopra is considering Deepika for his next film Sultan, which will star Salman. Many of you may remember that Kangana Ranaut, she of Tanu Weds Manu Returns fame, recently turned down the Sultan role.
Khan, who is currently occupied on other projects, will soon start shooting on the sequel, which King Khan wrote himself. Director Sajid Nadiadwala elaborated on a time table saying, "Salman Khan has got an idea for Kick 2. He is writing it himself. The film with come out in 2017."
Khan will play the devil again, but they are on the lookout for a new actress after stating publicly that the co-star of the aforementioned Jacqueline Fernandez would not be returning for the second one. Speculation is that Khan and Nadiawala will do the Kick sequel with a whole new cast.
As for casting Deepika to play Salman's love interest in the film, no one has come out publicly to address the idea but, while that question will have to be answered in the future, it is probably still very early to be considered a priority just yet.
