This Thursday, NBC’s Hannibal is back with another killer new episode. Recently X-Files star Gillian Anderson. opened up about becoming Dr. Lecter's (Mads Mikkelsen) new sidekick, comparing Dr. Bedelia Du Maurier to Clarice Starling. The official plot synopsis for this week’s all new episode of Hannibal, titled “Secondo,” reads:
“Will gains a potential ally in his continuing hunt for Hannibal when he makes his way to Hannibal's childhood home in Lithuania. Elsewhere, Jack arrives in Italy and hopes to avert tragedy by finding Will, and Bedelia gives Hannibal a warning.”
Recently, Gillian Anderson opened up to The Wall Street Journal about how Hannibal is shaping Dr. Bedelia Du Maurier into his protege:
“I think that certainly the trajectory that Bryan is writing in there, one can see the potential for Hannibal to be doing that, whether he’s doing that intentionally, creating a protege or whether that she is adopting herself, I think we’ll always, in every episode, question whether that is transpiring or not. But I think it lingers. I haven’t really related her in any way to Clarice, but I definitely can see what you mean and I will give that some thought. It hasn’t crossed my mind.”
