Khloe Kardashian Divorce Update: Death of Lamar Odom's Friend Hurts Marriage?
Time for another update in the ongoing divorce of Keeping Up With the Kardashians star Khloe Kardashian and her estranged husband, Lamar Odom. Although a number of media outlets have suggested that Khloe and Lamar were reconciling in an attempt to save their marriage, a new report claims that their relationship may be growing even worse. After the death of Lamar Odom's close friend, Jamie Sangouthai, it appears that some old wounds may be reopened.
In a tragic turn of events, 37-year-old Jamie Sangouthai has passes away.
Fans of Keeping Up with the Kardashians likely remember Jamie as Lamar's sidekick on the hit reality show, however, the fun-loving family friend finally succumbed to a flesh-eating disease.
According to People, Jamie's death likely resulted from drug use:
"Lamar Odom's close friend Jamie Sangouthai's death has been ruled an accident, PEOPLE confirms...'He had [a] flesh-eating disease from his intravenous drug use,' L.A. Coroner's office assistant chief Ed Winter tells PEOPLE...'Cause A is Necrotizing fasciitis. Cause B is chronic intravenous narcotism,' Winter explains. 'How it occurred was self-injection and ruled an accident.'"
In the wake of this tragedy, a number of media outlets are reporting that Jamie's death is further destroying any chances that Khloe and Lamar had to reconcile their struggling marriage.
Despite months of reports claiming Khloe and Lamar were thinking of cancelling their pending divorce, this latest development has many questioning if the two won't proceed with the split as planned.
According to Radar Online, Khloe was televised openly bashing Jamie on Keeping Up with the Kardashians. This has many of Sangouthai's friends coming forward following his untimely death:
"In the wake of Jamie Sangouthai's tragic overdose death, many remember the late Khloe & Lamar star simply as Lamar Odom's funny sidekick...The former reality show's fans also may remember Odom's estranged wife Khloe Kardashian complaining about Sangouthai's partying and money grubbing on camera...But the New York native, 37, was not one of the former NBA player's loser hanger-ons, his close friend exclusively tells RadarOnline.com."
Friends of the deceased were quick to defend their friend, despite any issues he may have had with parting and substance abuse.
What do you make of the latest report? Should Khloe be facing criticism for accusing Jamie of wanting money and being addicted to partying? In the end, did at least some of her words prove accurate?
