Real Housewives star Teresa Giudice has had a heck of a year. Not only are rumors circulating that she is pregnant and may be getting a divorce, but she and husband Joe may be going to jail for a very long time. They are facing some pretty serious punishment over federal fraud charges.
Despite facing over 50 years in prison and millions of dollars in fines, the New Jersey couple doesn’t seem dissuaded from having a new baby. At least, that is what OK! Magazine is claiming, revealing that a source told the publication:
“They were serious about having a surrogate when the whole scandal blew up. Right now they’re acting pretty delusional, insisting they’ll be found innocent and life will return to normal soon enough.They say they see no reason to slow down on the baby plans.”
Turns out that Joe really wants a boy to pass down his legacy (of what, we’re not sure). Though the couple has been trying for over 14 years and already have four children, they have yet to be able to produce a male.
While this was an issue that seemed to only bother Joe, it now appears that Teresa feels the same way. OK!’s source went on to comment about why this is:
“One of Teresa’s greatest talents is denial. Her denial is a big part of why they’re in this mess in the first place. If she had just stopped a few years ago and said, ‘Why are we spending all this money when our bank accounts look like this?’ they could’ve gotten out before too much damage was done. She has very little help, if any, from nannies, and oftentimes it’s impossible for her to cope with the girls. Throw another baby in the mix and it would be total chaos.”
Baby rumors are really the least of the couple’s worries. In fact, they could be losing the children that they already have. If convicted, Joe could actually be deported back to Italy. Not to mention, the couple has been having some relationship trouble.
Before their arrest, tabloids were already predicting an upcoming divorce. In fact, some news organizations were claiming that Teresa attempted a plea deal by ratting out Joe, however, it was rejected.
