Leah Remini and John Travolta Face Being Harassed by Church of Scientology, Claims U.S. Tabloid [UPDATE]

Leah Remini, who recently left the Church of Scientology, may be facing harassment from the organization that many view as a cult. As a result of her recent defection, longtime member John Travolta is also presented with undue scrutiny, claims a U.S. tabloid. We’ve got the latest update on Leah and John’s alleged struggle with the religion.

Star Magazine, one of the world’s leading tabloids, is making some pretty big claims against the highly secretive (and equally litigious) Church of Scientology. Leah made national headlines when she announced that she would be leaving the church she called home for so many years.

A month after Leah parted ways with the organization, she filed a missing persons report on behalf of Shelly Miscavige. According to Star:

“Though Shelly Miscavige, who hasn’t been seen in public for more than six years, was reportedly found to be alive and well, the wrath of higher-ups was evident in a rambling tirade released by the church following the police finding, in which Leah’s inquiry was called, ‘nothing more than a publicity stunt...cooked up with unemployed anti-religious zealots.’”

It turns out that filing a missing persons police report was just the first step in Remini’s battle with Scientology. Remini is in the process of writing a tell-all book about the secretive religion. According to a source:

“Leah is using her celebrity to draw attention to the church and it’s policies, which she believes do far more harm than good. Filing the missing persons report was such a brave move, but that’s just the type of person Leah is. She fights for what she believes is right.”

Leah isn’t the only one facing undue scrutiny. John Travolta is also getting some additional heat, according to the tabloid, that claims:

“John and his daughter, Ella Bleu, 13, were being followed by a Scientology minder named Angie. ‘She spent most of the night aggressively staring at anyone John talked to,’ recalls an eyewitness. ‘It was very uncomfortable, but John acted like it was normal.’”
