Brace yourself, Twilight fans. If you thought it was difficult determining who starlet Kristen Stewart was dating before, then you haven't seen anything yet. After a number of media outlets claimed that Stewart was in a lesbian relationship with rumored girlfriend Alicia Cargile, a popular British publication claimed this Ms. Stewart's own mother, Jules Stewart, confirmed the claims. However, Jules recently (and quite publicly) denied ever making any comments about her daughter being bisexual.
For months now, the tabloids have claimed that Alicia Cargile and Kristen Stewart were more than just friends and that their relationship extends beyond the workplace.
Although neither celeb has confirmed the relationship, that didn't stop a slew of media outlets from reporting that the two were a couple.
Recently, these rumors peaked when Kristen Stewart's own mother, Jules Stewart, granted an interview to The Sunday Mirror. The popular British publication claims that Jules confirmed Kristen Stewart is dating Alicia Cargile (via Vanity Fair):
"I've met Kristen's new girlfriend, I like [Alicia Cargile]...What's not to accept? She's a lovely girl...I feel like people need to be free to love whoever they want. I accept my daughter loves women and men. It's O.K. to be who you are in my world. We all choose our friends so we should be free to choose our lovers."
Not so fast, though.
After nearly every entertainment publication ran the news, Jules quickly denied that the quotes were authentic.
In fact, Business Standard tells readers that Jules has denied speaking about her daughter's sexual orientation at all:
"Kristen Stewart's mother Jules has denied a story published by a British celebrity gossip site that she confirmed her daughter was in a relationship with her personal assistant Alicia Cargile...Jules said she never discussed her daughter's love life during the Mirror interview with Sharon Feinstein..."
After Jules Stewart publicly called out the publication and the interviewer, the Mirror was quick to respond with their own statements.
Turns out the publication isn't backing down and both Mirror and Sharon Feinstein are standing by their claims.
