While Jude Law fans were probably less than surprised at the news that the 42-year-old British bad boy was said to be dating a new much younger girlfriend in Phillipa Coan, French journalist Rachel Bourlier insists that she was shocked. According to the latest gossip news updates, Rachel had been secretly seeing Sadie Frost's ex-husband for months, when she suddenly heard of Jude's relationship with Coan after their public appearance together at the Hay Festival last month.
Although they have only officially been going out for a little while now, Jude Law is said to already be falling fast for his new girlfriend Phillipa Coan.
One source claiming to be close to the couple told the Mail on Sunday that Law and Coan had already moved into the phase where they giddily start introducing one another to their family and friends (via Daily Mail):
"Even though it's early days, Jude has already introduced Phillipa to the family, and even Sadie [Frost].
"He's serious about her. He loves how intelligent Pippa is and finds it refreshing to date a girl who is not from his showbiz world."
That all reportedly comes as quite a blow to 43-year-old French journalist, Rachel Bourlier, however.
Bourlier reportedly told The Sun on Sunday that she had been quietly dating Law for months and only happened to find out about the news with everyone else, when she saw the couple gallivanting on the red carpet together along (via Daily Mail):
"I offered him a quiet place to get away from it all -- somewhere he could relax and have peace.
"We had an amazing physical connection together. Jude spoke to me in French and told me many beautiful things."
For her part, Mellissa McCarthy didn't have much to say about her Spy costar's personal life, but did commend Law on his flawless performance in the new Paul Fig directed comedy (via IBTimes):
"Jason and Jude's characters are fantastic!
"So glamorous and tough, but let's be honest, they're the bimbos of the film, and I just love it!"
Let's just hope that despite their onset chemistry that Melissa McCarthy never lets Jude Law get close enough to broke her heart the way he did Bourlier's.
