For two couples that are said to be ready to split any day now, the Madden Brothers and their wives seemed happy as could be out on the double date together last week. According to the latest gossip news updates, newly married Cameron Diaz and Benji Madden looked the very picture of contentment as they enjoyed a night out with fellow lovebirds and in-laws, Joel Madden and Nicole Richie. In a related story, instead of splitting, Cameron is taking the next year off in an effort to truly settle down and get pregnant with Benji's first baby.
Despite the near-constant speculation by the supermarket tabloids the both the Madden Brothers' marriages are doomed to fail, the Good Charlotte front men seemed to have things very much under control as they strolled with the arms around their ladies while out and about in L.A. the other night.
According to Daily Mail's coverage of their double date, Cameron and Nicole looked every bit as stylish as they did happy during their romantic night out in Hollywood:
"Cameron, 42, kept one arm firmly around her 36-year-old spouse's shoulders as she laughed and joked with him and Nicole, 33 while Joel, 36, walked ahead.
"The whole group was quite casual, with Cameron wearing a black dress and wedge trainers with a black bag slung across her body."
Word has it that things are going so well between Cameron and Benji that the Hollywood icon is looking to take an entended vacation for the first time in a long time to focus on starting a family.
The secret source that Us Weekly spoke to claimed that Diaz was going to take a whole year off and see if she wouldn't couldn't wind up having a baby for her troubles:
"All she wants is to stay home and enjoy this special time in her life...[to] be a wife and try to have a baby.
"She has told her team she won't answer the phone for any amount of money -- even though she has received offers for various things.
"She is adamant that she is not available for anything."
Perhaps given enough time the tabloids will realize what a waste it is trying to convince Cameron and Nicole's fans that they're anything but the epitome of happily in love.
