It seems that NeNe Leakes truly didn't need a job on Bravo's Season 8 of The Real Housewives of Atlanta, after all. According to the latest gossip news updates, the former reality TV queen bee is said to already be filming her new network variety show, To Tell the Truth, with Betty White and Anthony Anderson for ABC. Although Nene has expressed some doubts about the series being able to make it without her being a part of the full-time cast, Cynthia Bailey insist that the franchise certainly doesn't need the Glee actress to be successfully. Cynthia wouldn't confirm or deny whether or not Facts of Life alum, Kim Fields, was going to be replacing NeNe but seemed to admit that someone with the Living Single actress' personality type would definitely make the perfect new addition in 2015.
It seems that NeNe Leakes really was keeping her cards close to her vest as she encouraged rumors that she was at least considering returning to the show, now that everyone knows she would have probably been too busy filming her new show for ABC to even think about starting another ridiculous feud with Kenya Moore.
Just days after it was announced that NeNe wouldn't be joining the Real Housewives of Atlanta cast for the first time since the show aired eight years ago, Leakes put out the word through her personal website the she already has new job that she started work on before the holiday:
"When one door closes, another door opens!
"Your girl is returning to primetime network TV on the new ABC variety series To Tell the Truth with Betty White and Anthony Anderson.
"I start filming tomorrow. Bloop!"
While it seems hard to believe, one source claiming to be close to Leakes told MediaTakeOut that had Bravo given NeNe the power she was looking for their lead Housewife would be willing to return for another year (via MusicTimes):
"NeNe felt that the producers would edit the show to make her look silly, or to encourage other cast members to attack her.
"So she wanted to be an official executive producer -- with a say in how the show would be edited.
"She basically wanted to be able to write her own story line, and edit it, and then have it air."
Of course, Cynthia Bailey is not able to really confirm if Kim Fields is going to be joining the cast in Season 8 or not, but she did tell E! News that they were definitely looking forward to working with a Kim Fields type:
"I am just excited for someone to come in who is a spit fire, someone who is not just going to come in and check things out...We need [that]!"
Let's just hope that NeNe Leakes gets along better with Betty White that she has some of her past Real Housewives of Atlanta cast mates.
