Knitting Factory to Release 6 Fela Kuti Albums on Limited Edition Vinyl

Mr. Afrobeat himself, Fela Kuti, will receive a most astounding tribute by Knitting Factory. Almost 20 years after his death, Kuti will have his works pressed on a vinyl for a limited time only.

Coming at you via the crowdfunding site Pledge Music, Knitting Factory has announced that it will press six of his massive works onto a different color of vinyl for a brief period.

The albums include: Alagbon Close, Beasts of No Nation, Everything Scatter, Fear Not for Man, Na Poi and Roforofo Fight.

In addition to the release, Pledge Music and Knitting Factory have also created other limited edition items to follow the vinyl campaign. Other pieces include test pressings, limited edition T-shirts and screen prints.

There's also unreleased content headed your way with every purchase as well.

Earlier this year, too, Soundway Records unveiled the very first recordings by Kuti, while Brian Eno curated a seven-disc box set of the artist. The Factory was also responsible for placing a large quantity of Fela's back catalogue on Bandcamp last year.

According to Fact Mag:

"Each pre-order includes access to some special unreleased content. The records are expected in October, priced £25 each or £180 for the set, and can be pre-ordered now."

So while you await a most anticipated collection of everything Kuti, get down with him below.
