Fox News really knows how to generate headlines. The conservative news network has announced Elisabeth Hasselbeck’s start date. Elisabeth has left ‘The View’ for a new show, Fox and Friends. According to industry insiders, she had a falling out with former host Barbara Walters and continues to fight with the legendary journalist. This latest update comes while Megyn Kelly is still on maternity leave.
Calm down, ladies! Recent reports posted on Showbiz Spy claim that Elisabeth Hasselbeck and Barbara Walters may not be as chummy as they appeared on The View. While many were aware that Barbara and Elisabeth have different political ideologies, few knew how far the division went.
Showbiz Spy spoke with an insider that claims Elisabeth is furious with Babs. Their most recent beef came from Barbara devoting very little time to Elisabeth on her first show. By contrast, Joy Behar was given an entire hour when she left the morning talk show, as a source revealed:
“Elisabeth is fuming over this latest snub from Barbara. It’s no secret that politically conservative Elisabeth wasn’t afraid to publicly stand up to Barbara’s liberal points of view. That’s grated on Barbara’s nerves and obviously reached a boiling point this past year. Now Elisabeth feels the very minor going-away tribute given to her, versus the spectacle bestowed upon Barbara’s good friend Joy, was just another public dig to embarrass her.”
Elisabeth will be joining the cast of Fox and Friends at her new home, Fox News, on September 16. This is only one of many changes to Fox’s lineup.
The most notable switch up will come when Megyn Kelly returns from maternity leave. The new mom will be replacing Sean Hannity in the 9:00 p.m. hour. No word from Fox on where Hannity is heading.
