Sarah Palin Strategist Talks Indian American SC Gov Nikki Haley VP Chances After Rebel Flag Death

The Confederate flag has come down from the SC State House and the woman instrumental for Governor Nikki Haley’s stock is rising in the Republican party. The Indian American Governor is even allegedly being considered for a Vice President nomination after “killing” the Rebel flag. Recently, Republican Strategist Steve Schmidt opened up to Politico about Haley’s possible future in the party. It should be noted that Schmidt helped with the 2008 John McCain campaign and was instrumental in bringing Sarah Palin onboard. Schmidt was also played by Woody Harrelson in the film Game Change, about the 2008 campaign.

Republican Strategist Steve Schmidt recently spoke to Politico about Nikki Haley’s chances at getting a VP nomination for the 2016 election.

“Nikki showed leadership in this instance, and she represents a new Republican face in the South. She speaks to the growing diversity of Republican elected officials in executive office, and she’s been a very effective governor in the state of South Carolina, and certainly, she’s going to be a person given serious consideration.”

However, Nikki Haley’s VP bid is far from a sure thing as Schmidt adds:

“Her knowledge of world affairs and national security remains untested and unknown at this point.”

Purple Strategies president Bruce Haynes also spoke to political, pointing out all things that make her an ideal candidate:

“Nikki Haley, to begin with, is a demographic dream for the Republican ticket. She is a female, she’s an Indian-American, she exhibits diversity in a very unique way in the Republican Party.”

What do you think about Nikki Haley’s possible VP nomination? Would you vote for the South Carolina governor? Could she help the Republican ticket a good chance against Hillary Clinton? Let us know your thoughts in the comments section at the bottom of the page.
