As hard as it would have been to believe just a few years ago, people are starting to talk about America's favorite powercouple, Bennifer, getting back together. According to the latest gossip news updates, the American Idol cast judge has had feelings for the Gone Girl heartthob ever since they called off the wedding at the last minute back in 2004, and now thanks to the Argo director's divorce to Jennifer Garner, J-Lo supposedly wants to rekindle their romance. While there has been no mention of what the Boy Next Door seductress would do about her dating current boyfriend Casper Smart, clearly the backup dancer would have a very hard time trying to compete with Batman.
Although she once referred to their breakup as her "first real heartbreak", it's being rumored by supermarket tabloids and internet gossip mongers alike that Jennifer Lopez has her sights set on getting Ben Affleck back now that Batman is said to be divorcing Jennifer Garner, after their decade long marriage.
One secret source in the latest July 20, issue of InTouch Weekly claims that Lopez has pretty much been hoping against hope for years that Ben wouldonr day be single again:
"J. Lo has always left the door open to a possible reconciliation with Ben....She's holding a torch for him.
"The moment she heard the rumors in mid-June, J. Lo called him. Now that he's single she wants to see wear it goes.
"They're talking."
Another insider that Radar Online supposedly spoke to insists that Ben's relationship with Lopez really didn't factor into their split (via NDTV):
"Jen' is fed up with him flying off to Vegas for gambling sessions and going on other solo trips, leaving her holding the family together...he disappears whenever he wants to indulge."
Even worse, Garner is said to have always resented Ben and J. Lo's closeness, so now, according to IT's insiders, Jen is going to take him to the cleaners for her troubles:
"She's hurt and angry -- she wants to be compensated for all the anguish he put her through. She stood by Ben though a lot.
"Jen feels like he just gave up, while she tried to save the marriage."
Too bad for Casper Smart that he was still in middle school when Ben and Jennifer seemingly made a love connection that would last a lifetime.
