Megyn Kelly Returning to Fox News in September? Sean Hannity Leaving When Anchor Returns From Maternity Leave [UPDATE]

Many fans of Fox News are wondering when Megyn Kelly will be returning to Fox News. Recent rumors indicate that the anchor may return as soon as September. This leaves Sean Hannity counting the days until he will be walking away from his longtime show.

Fox News has made a great deal of headlines from their recent announcements concerning some major lineup changes. The most noise was generated when it was revealed that Megyn Kelly would be getting her own primetime show.

This decision was shocking enough by itself, considering that Fox hasn’t altered their lineup in many, many years--which makes sense, because they have handedly dominated the cable news market.

Of course, this wasn’t the only reason the press picked up on the announcement. Many fans of the conservative news network were shocked to learn that Kelly will be taking the 9:00 p.m. slot from veteran anchor, Sean Hannity.

Fox still has a long-term contract with Hannity, so he may not be leaving the news network, but he will be losing his coveted time slot. That change will happen immediately following Kelly’s return from maternity leave.

Many fans are wondering when that will be. Some are betting on September, following Fox’s official announcement concerning Fox and Friends.

In a high-profile network switch, Elisabeth Hasselbeck will be joining the hosts of Fox and Friends. She left her longtime home, The View, earlier in the summer.

Her official start date is on September 16. Megyn Kelly’s maternity leave extends to November but it’s not clear whether or not she will be returning earlier.
