Although they reportedly already had a romantic tryst back in 2003, Britney Spear's father, Jamie, is said to be pushing hard for his "Toxic" daughter to start dating HBO True Detective, Colin Farrell, once again. According to the latest gossip news updates, Spears' dad/conservator thinks that the sensitive Irish actor would be the perfect match for his daughter, since her recent split from former boyfriend, Charlie Ebersol. Rumor has it, however, that the Las Vegas singer and the TV producer split over her desire to have more kids, but Jamie could be hoping that the two kids that Colin would bring to their relationship will be enough to satisfy his fragile daughter.
After seeming like they were very much in love for almost 8-months, Britney Spears and Charlie Ebersol suddenly split last month without much of an explanation being given to their adoring fans as to why.
One source in the latest August 3, issue of Life & Style claims that things seemed to bottom out almost the moment Britney mentioned how badly she wanted to have another baby:
"The beginning of the end was when Britney told Charlie that she wanted to have more kids...It was a make or break time for their relationship.
"He told her he didn't know if there would ever be a right time for them to take a step back [from their careers] and become parents.
"She just wants to find someone who wants all the things that she wants in life."
While that might seem like a pretty tall order to your average man, an insider in the latest edition of OK! Magazine insists that Jamie Spears thinks he's done it.
The family friend says that very recently Jamie came to the same realization as the True Detective's casting director: Colin Farrell would be perfect for a sequel:
"Brit and Colin's first go at romance was doomed, because they were too young and wild...But they've both matured and are parents of young boys.
"As far as Jamie's concerned, the fact that Colin's oldest son, James, has special needs means Colin has the sensitivity to deal with Brit's emotional issues.
"Jamie's been playing up what a perfect pair the two would be, noting that they're both sober and committed to practicing yoga."
If Colin and Britney do start dating, it looks like she may soon have a lot more time to spend with the Irish actor than she has her last few boyfriends.
According to E! News, Spears has yet to sign the contract to extend her Las Vegas tour, despite it's being waiting for nothing more than her John Hancock for some time now:
"Britney Spears is in talks to extend her residency at Planet Hollywood but no final decisions have been made.
"In other words, Ms. Spears could be packing up her hit show Britney: Piece of Me and leaving town."
