Batman might be known for his boarding, but Ben Affleck might not be too far behind him. New reports are suggesting that Ben Affleck is in a dark place, blaming himself for his and Jennifer Garner’s upcoming divorce. Some even fear that Affleck might turn to gambling and alcohol with Garner to help him with his addictions. Now, it is being reported that Ben is leaning on his old friend Matt Damon for support. Could Damon be enough to keep The Dark Knight from going off the deep end?
US Weekly recently spoke with an unnamed insider that claims that Jennifer Garner was on of the only things keeping Affleck’s bad habbits in check:
"From the smoking to drinking and gambling, she has always been the one person who can get through to him."
Radar Online is reporting that Ben is blaming himself for his marriage troubles, seeking support from his agent Patrick Whitesell and his best friend Matt Damon:
“Ben’s taking all the blame for the end of his marriage. He didn’t want her to leave, but he gave her no choice. He’s really in bad shape and Matt and Pat are urging him to get past this as quickly as possible and stay focused on the work ahead of him.”
The source went on to add that Affleck is also throwing himself into his work:
“He’s naturally a workaholic anyway, but he’s in a dark place now and only time and his friends can help pull him through.”
According to the insider Jennifer Garner knows that Ben has been airing their dirty laundry to Matt Damon for sometime now:
“She knew he was talking to his agent and Matt about their marriage, and she started to feel like she was being ganged up on by the boys.”
