Despite the fact that James Wan was at the helm for the most lucrative Fast and Furious film in the franchise's history, word has it that executive producer, Vin Diesel, may not bring him back for Fast 8. According to the latest gossip news updates, Justin Lin, who directed the last several film in the series leading up to Furious 7, looks like he is favored to take control of the new movie, despite the last film making more than a billion-and-a-half-dollars. In a related story, Fast 8 baddie, Jason Statham, appears to be thinking of finding someone new to replace his supermodel girlfriend, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley. It's said that the Transporter's flirtatious behavior was so scandalous at a recent get together in Malibu that it bordered on cheating.
While most folks might think that James Wan's having directed one of the most successful movies of all time would put him head and shoulders above all the completion when it came time to decide who would direct the next Fast and Furious film, Vin Diesel's recent Instagram post has everyone realizing that they might have been wrong.
Earlier this week, Vin put up an uncaptioned picture of him seemingly on set with -- not Wan -- but the Fast franchise's old director, Justin Lin.

Although we may have to wait a bit longer to find out what Justin Lin's current relationship status is with the franchise, one of the sources in the July 27, issue of Star magazine, claims that Fast bad-guy, Jason Statham's five-year romance with Rosie, Huntington-Whiteley should be publicly kaput any day now.
The informed insider insisted that Jason, who recently put the house he shares with Rosie up for sale, was recently attending the Red, White and Bootsy party at the Nobu Malibu on the Fourth looking very single and ready to mingle:
"Jason was there alone, flirting with random girls all night long
"He was clearly tipsy and blatantly eyeing up the women wearing next-to-nothing bikinis,"
According to the informant, Rosie has done her best to let Jason come around to the idea of settling down in his own time, but after half-a-decade, the 28-year-old beauty feels she's waited around long enough:
"Rosie has been hoping Jason would eventually grow up and propose, but it's obvious he has no intention of giving up the single to get married anytime soon."
Regardless of whatever happens with Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, at least, Jason Statham will have a long future with the Fast & Furious franchise to look forward to -- even if James Wan can't say the same.
