Gary Clark Jr. Announces Second Album 'The Story of Sonny Boy Slim'

Gary Clark Jr. has announced the follow up to his 2012 debut album Blak and Blu. The sophomore release is entitled The Story of Sonny Boy Slim and is due out Sept. 11 via Warner Bros. Records.

Something to note about this release is that Clark wrote, produced and arranged the album and played the majority of the instruments. While most stars commission songwriters, Clark is an exception.

Sisters Shawn and Savannah Clark, too, perform on the record as backing vocalists. Clark said of the album, "The underlying tone of this album is faith and hope really at the end of the day. 'Cause that's all we need."

Pre-orders for the album are currently being taken and are supplemented with downloads of his latest singles "Grinder" and "The Healing." Embarking on the festival circuit, Clark will also join Foo Fighters for a September run.
