Elisabeth Hasselbeck, Megyn Kelly, Gretchen Carlson and Alec Baldwin Start New Shows at Fox News and MSNBC Soon [Update]

Things are really changing over at MSNBC and Fox News. The conservative news network will see the addition of Elisabeth Hasselbeck as well as new shows and times for veteran anchors Megyn Kelly and Gretchen Carlson. The liberal news network, on the other hand, have hired world-famous actor Alec Baldwin to host a program.

A year ago, no one could have predicted the changes that would occur over at Fox News. The Republican news org has had the same lineup for an unbelievable amount of time. And that makes total sense, because they have handedly dominated the world of cable news.

This year, however, ratings have begun to fall. Of course, they are still much higher than their other competitors. Still, this is the reason many have suggested for the numerous lineup changes.

Elisabeth Hasselbeck will be joining Fox’s long-running morning show, Fox and Friends. Gretchen Carlson will be getting her own afternoon program to fill the void left open by Megyn Kelly.

Kelly has received the biggest promotion of all and, consequently, is responsible for the biggest shake up. She will be hosting her own prime time show, replacing veteran news anchor Sean Hannity.

Fox New’s liberal cousin, MSNBC, also has some changes in store. They have hired actor Alec Baldwin for a Friday night show entitled Up Late With Alec Baldwin. Phil Griffin, president of NBC, released the following statement concerning the move:

"I've been talking with Alec for a while and can't wait to bring his personality and eclectic interests to MSNBC. He's got such passion for ideas and what's going on in the world - he's going to be a great addition to our line-up."

Baldwin, too, is excited about the switch, telling fans:

“After two seasons of my WNYC podcast, I've developed a fondness for hosting a show that involved talking with smart, talented and engaging people in every imaginable field,” Baldwin also said. “I'm grateful to MSNBC for helping me bring a similar show to television.”
