The premiere of Castle Season 8 is almost here and with comes an all new cast member. This year Toks Olagundoye will be joining Castle (Firefly’s Nathan Fillion) and Beckett (Stana Katic) as independent investigator Hayley Shipton. Check out the report below for a first look at the all new character.
Recently, Castle executive producer Alexi Hawley opened up to Entertainment Weekly about Toks Olagundoye’s new character Hayley Shipton:
“[Toks] plays a really dynamic, fun character. It’s a voice that the show doesn’t have. What’s great about her is Castle [Nathan Fillion] has been investigating cases police-adjacent, so it’s always about doing things the way police would. She doesn’t do things that way, so that fun dynamic of, ‘No, we break in rather than get a warrant,’ is kind of fun.”
Hawley went on to discuss how Toks character will stack up against Adam Baldwin’s:
“She’s a little easier than Adam Baldwin [was] on him, but there’s definitely an energy about her which is a lot of fun.”
