The tabloids are back it...This week rumors are flying the Rush Limbaugh, who was recently fired from his radio network, Kirstie Alley, celebrity Scientologist, and actor Tom Hanks are all gay. We’ve got a break down on their false claims and take a look at the reasoning behind their erroneous cover story.
Rush Limbaugh is not having a great year. The uber-popular conservative broadcaster has reportedly lost his job. Don’t worry Rush-heads, a slew of other radio networks are fighting for the chance to broadcast his hit-morning show.
That doesn’t take away from the negative press Rush is receiving, however. Of course, the “family values” (we’re not sure what family...or what values) shock jock would probably prefer those rumors over what the National Examiner is claiming.
This week’s cover story is accusing Rush Limbaugh of being secretly gay. Their reasoning, however, makes very little sense:
“He’s childless after four marriages, leading some observers to wonder whether the pundit prefers guys. Recently, airport customs officers caught the mouthpiece with another man’s Viagra in his bag.”
The magazine went on to cite other “evidence,” like the fact that Elton John played his wedding.
Equally ludicrous was their reasoning behind Kirstie Alley being gay. In fact, we’re not sure any reasoning was used at all. The article just states that once 23 years ago, a columnist wrote that she was married to a gay man.
Perhaps the most ridiculous of all the claims was that legendary actor Tom Hanks is gay. Their reasoning?
He once played a gay man on film. The real story here, however, is how National Examiner is allowed to be so openly homophobic and embarrassingly inaccurate.
