Cory Monteith's Last Movies Before Death Premiere: Glee Bids Farewell to Finn in Fifth Season

Cory Monteith's last two movies premiered this week at the 2013 Toronto International Film Festival. The late actor's last works, All The Wrong Reasons and McCanick debuted just two weeks before the fifth season premiere of Glee. The cast of the Fox musical bid a fond farewell to their friend Finn Hudson, as the show stops filming to deal with the tragic death.

Cory Monteith tragically passed away from an accidental overdose earlier the summer, after a lifelong struggle with addiction. The 31-year-old star of the hit Fox musical comedy Glee's life was cut short just as his career was starting to take off.

Monteith's last works both premiered at this years TIFF and serve as sort of a chilling memorial to actor.

First at the festival was Sunday night's feature, All The Wrong Reasons, written and directed by Gia Milani. In ATWR, Monteith plays James, a big box retail store manager, who is torn between his PTSD suffering wife and a quirky cashier. Milani went on to win the Grolsch Film Works Discovery Award for emerging filmmakers.

Next up was Monday's McCanick, written by Daniel Noah and directed by Josh C. Waller. McCanik is a dark cop drama in which Monteith plays a criminal. The film, co-staring David Morse, was picked up for an unexpected 2014 theatrical release.

Glee's fifth season premieres in just two short weeks on September 26. The show will address Monteith's death by killing off his character, Finn Hudson, in the third episode of the new season. Jane Lynch spoke with People Magazine about the tribute episode scheduled for Oct 10:

"It was hard, and it was beautifully written. We grieved together, and it was so important for the crew to grieve as well, so we kind of all grieved as a big family. It was really hard to do, but it was a really beautiful episode."
