It seems that all the supermarket tabloids are convinced that Tom Hanks' son with ex-wife Rita Wilson, Chet Haze/Hanx, is missing. According to the latest gossip news updates, the struggling rapper has been missing for more than a month after posting cryptic message about getting out of town on Instagram July 23. While the Hollywood gossip mill seems scared to death that something has happened to the lovable comedian's kid, Hanks' rep insists that Chester is not missing in any way, shape or form.
It has been obvious to anyone paying attention that 25-year-old Chester Hanks is having a bit of a identity crisis in his career as a rapper as he has publicly tried to distance himself from his past persona of Chet Haze -- insisting that he will now be known as Chet Hanx -- but few guessed than the Instgram devotee would be disappearing all together from the spotlight.
After more than a month of social media radio silence, Chet's whereabouts are said to be a complete mystery to both his family and his friends.
One source in the latest September 7, issue of Star magazine claims that Hanx' father, Tom Hanks, has been doing his best to quietly track his son down without alerting the media:
"By the time he had been gone for a week without a word, their level of concern skyrocketed and they began to consider their options.
"Tom has a lot of contacts in the security industry, and through them, he hired a group of 'outside parties' to handle the situation -- most likely a private team of investigators to track Chet down."
Despite the story currently seeming to appear everywhere this week, Tom Hanks' personal rep, Leslee Dart, told the Chicago Tribune that Chet is not in hiding or missing:
