‘Chicago Fire’ Season 4: ‘TVD’ Steven McQueen Joins Jesse Spencer Show, Not TNT ‘Teen Titans’

Season 4 of NBC’s hit firehouse drama, Chicago Fire is just around the corner. This season, Jesse Spencer and the gang my will be joined by former Vampire Diaries star, Steven R. McQueen. McQueen had previously lobbied to play Nightwing on Arrow or TNT’s Teen Titans, has seemingly traded the Batpole for a firepole. Now, McQueen can be seen in a new trailer for upcoming season of Chicago Fire.

The Vampire Diaries alum Steven R. McQueen has made no secret of his ambitions to play Nightwing in some form or fashion. McQueen announced he was leaving TVD around the same time it was announced that TNT was working on a Teen Titans TV show, leading many to believe that he was going to portray the former Robin in the new series.

After his Vampire Diaries departure, TVD creator Julie Plec opened up about Steven leaving, telling The Hollywood Reporter about his dream of becoming a superhero:

"He’ll always be welcome to join us for important events -- unless [McQueen] finally gets his wish to play a superhero and he’s unavailable."

However, it is looking like McQueen is trading his superhero dream, for one as an real life American hero.
