Fox News, America’s most popular (and conservative) news network, is undergoing major changes to its line up. While MSNBC is doing the same thing, Fox primetime lineup hasn’t experienced any major changes in a number of years and is noticeably more stable than it’s liberal news counterpart.
At the center of that lineup change is Megyn Kelly. The captivating blonde, who just gave birth to her third child, is looking to shake things up when she finally returns from maternity leave. Fox News has confirmed that the broadcaster would be moving from afternoons to prime time.
Of course, they didn’t specify which longtime anchor she would be replacing. While numerous media outlets have reported that it would be Sean Hannity, it appears that may not be the case.
This seems increasingly more probable since Fox News’ announcement that Shep Smith will be leaving his 7:00 p.m. show. As Huffington Post reports:
“The host will continue anchoring the 3 p.m. hour, which will be renamed Shepard Smith Reporting, and his team will be responsible for breaking in to normal programming throughout the day. Mediaite was the first to report the news on Thursday.
The Fox Report at 7 p.m. will be "incorporated into a breaking news unit where Smith will dedicate his anchoring, reporting and presentation acumen as domestic and international events unfold," the network said in a statement. Meanwhile, Smith's 3 p.m. show will get a new studio. Smith said in the statement that he is "thrilled" by the move.”
