Like any good Disney Channel star, Ross Lynch is growing up. The R5 rocker is starting to distance himself from the House of Mouse. Unlike Miley Cyrus or Lindsay Lohan, Ross Lynch isn’t going to extreme lengths to shake off his mouse ears. Instead, Lynch is doing it by displaying a more mature sound in R5’s new album, Sometime Last Night. Now, that his hit show, Austin & Ally is heading towards its final episode and then going where ever canceled shows go, Lynch is free to branch out a little. Now, Lynch is opening up about what it is really like to work for Disney and we can’t help but wonder what that means for Teen Beach Movie 3?
While promoteing his new album, Sometime Last Night, stopped by CBS Philadelphia, where he opened up about what it is like to be a part of the Disney family and why so many former stars go wild when they leave:
“When you’re a part of the Disney family per se, they do kind of give you guidelines. Like listen, don’t post any nudes, or anything like that obviously. But I actually don’t think the rebelling is because you were a part of Disney. I don’t think that’s it. People start to think that because you come from Disney that you’re a certain way, or people just perceive you in a certain light that a lot of people don’t want to be perceived as…When you come out of Disney you have a certain perception that people think of you, and I think that’s just what people want to break, and they just do it with extreme measures.”
Lynch went on to add that all of your teen idols are what they appear to be on screen:
“You are perceived to be such an angel, and really you’re just an actor that booked a job. But everyone thinks that it’s who you are, like they found you. They like raised you. But really it’s just a good job.”
