The results are in from the second Republican debate, and the outsiders are the big winners. The night that was billed as Donald Trump vs Jeb Bush, was really Trump vs Carly Fiorina. The Don took a few of his trademark jabs at his opportunities, including one unprovoked shot at Rand Paul to start things off. Trump also surprisingly, took a few shots at himself. However, support for Carly Fiorina surged when she shared the emotional story of her daughter's death at the hands of drug addiction.
In the hours after the debate ended, Drudge took an online poll to see who the readers thought won. According to the poll Donald Trump won with an overwhelming majority. Trump took in %62 of the vote followed by Carly Fiorina at %16.
While Jeb Bush was busy waxing nostalgic about his days as a teenage stoner, Carly Fiorina, was thinking about something far more series. In a highly emotional moment, Carly, brought up her daughter’s death due to drug addiction.
Carly’s step daughter, Lori Ann, passed away in 2009 at the age of 35, after struggling with substance abuse.
However, one outsider didn’t have such a good night. Dr. Ben Carson failed to capitalize on his recent spike in the polls. Besides for one good zinger at Trumps expense, Carson slept walked through his performance.
