The premiere episode of Gotham Season 2 is just around the corner. This season we can expect some big things from the Batman prequel series. Not only is Bruce Wayne heading to the Batcave, but the Arkham inmates are breaking loose. Season 2 is all about the rise of the villains and there is no villain greater than The Joker. While no Joker has been confirmed the show is definitely shaping Cameron Monaghan’s (Shameless) Jerome to fit the mold of the Clown Prince of Crime. The official plot synopsis for the Season 2 premiere episode of Gotham, titled, “ Rise of the Villains: Damned If You Do…,” reads:
“Season 2 opens with Penguin being asked for help from an unlikely source: Gordon, whose moral compass is out of whack following a shakeup in the police department. In other events, Bruce explores secrets from his father's office; and two newcomers are befriended by inmates from Arkham.”
Over the summer, Batman/Bruce Wayne actor David Mazouz spoke toComicbook.com, about the rise of the villains this season:
“We’re going to see the villains shift from mobsters to super villains. The villains that we know in Batman are going to be the ones who take over Gotham. Penguin is at the threshold right now, but he’s going to meet people who are ten times worse. And because the threat of villains is going to be so immense, the heroes will really have to team up. “
