Record company "Concord Music Group" will release five new titles in its "Very Best Of" jazz series, featuring music by jazz pianists and composers Dave Brubeck, Vince Guaraldi, the Bill Evans Trio, Thelonious Monk, and jazz saxophonist and composer Cannonball Adderley.
The release date is set for Aug. 7. Details follow:
The Very Best of Dave Brubeck - 15 tracks of the legendary pianist between 1949 and 1953.
The Very Best of Vince Guaraldi - 14 tracks from Fantasy sessions between 1957 and 1966, including Guaraldi's 1962 hit, "Cast Your Fate to the Wind".
The Very Best of The Bill Evans Trio - Recording by bassist Scott LaFaro and drummer Paul Motian between December 1959 and June 1961
The Very Best of Thelonious Monk -10 tracks of recordings between 1954 and 1957, mostly for Prestige and Riverside, and one track of Thelonious Monk with John Coltrane.
The Very Best of Cannonball Adderley -The saxophonist's works ranging from the Portrait of Cannonball and Things Are Getting Better sessions in 1958 to the Inside Straight in 1973 and Phenix sessions in 1975.
